4th of July Blog Hop

Its blog hop time again. This is my kids favorite holiday next to Christmas. They love to set off fireworks and watch the big display that takes place here in our town. There are so many towns around and near us that have a no burn band, which means they can not set off fireworks. But not our town. It looks like a war zone from about 4pm to past midnight. Smoke and trash is covering the streets but I must say there's nothing like barbecuing with friends and family and just enjoying time together. I've noticed as I get older that time is just flying by and I feel some days I've missed so much. I look at my kids and think it was only yesterday that they were babies and now they're kids going on teenagers. Also it means I'm getting older. Oh the horror!

Okay, on with the hop. I'm giving away one PDF copy of any one of my books plus a $10 gift card to Amazon to one lucky winner. If you like you can follow my blog, twitter, or friend me on Facebook, but you don't have to. Just leave a comment with a valid email so I can contact you if you are picked the winner. The hop runs from Sunday July 1st until Wednesday July 4th. I wont pick a winner until  Thursday afternoon. So please get your comments in by no later then 8am on Thursday morning.

If you click on the festive pick above, advertising the blog, it'll take you to a site that will display all the authors and such participating in the hop. Lots of great prizes up for grabs. Be sure to show everyone some love!!

Hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday week and happy reading!

AJ

  52. I love the 4th of July! When I was a kid we would go to an aunts house that was right on the beach. All along the the shoreline for several miles there would be huge bonfires!!!. It always makes me smile when I think of those times and about family and friends that I hardly ever see or remember the ones that are gone. Have a great night. ;)

  53. Hello AJ,

Thank you for participating in the Celebrating Independence Day Blog Hop.

Oh I sure know about the neighborhood LQQking like a war zone & it's a shame to say...but the fights & domestics disputes. My Husband is a Police Officer, will be 32 years going in October, & every year seems to be getting worse. He works the Midnight Shift but his entire Crew was already called in early, it's not even 5pm here yet. Some people tend to forget the meaning of the 4th of July, the few ruining it for the many, like their neighbors that have to deal with these "people".

But I hope Everyone has a Safe & Happy 4th of July....& eat a lot of Food :)
I would very much appreciate the opportunity to be considered in your very generous giveaway of one PDF copy of any one of your books plus a $10 gift card to Amazon. Thank You.

    Take care,

  54. Hi AJ :)

I believe I'm following you everywhere I can!

Iceland doesn't do fireworks except for New Years Eve and January 6th (the last day of Christmas for us - though the fireworks are usually just to fire up expiring stuff). We get to shoot it up ourselves and it's so much fun to watch...from inside :P I've never lit a firework myself and stand with a twinge in my stomach every time someone goes out to fire one. Sadly, my little boys look like they might be into this once they're old enough. Well, they'll be wearing double goggles, thick overalls and fire-proof oven gloves before they'll even be allowed to go anywhere near that stuff :P
