I was lucky enough to have Danica answer a few questions. So please sit back, relax and enjoy getting to know Danica Avet!

Are you a plotter or a pantser, or a hybrid?
I like to think I’m a hybrid, like an awesome cheetah slash tiger kick ass shifter. But mostly I’m a person who can’t stand being tied down to a set plan. I have a beginning and an end. I let the characters take it from there.

What item, or items, is absolutely necessary to your writing mojo?
Oh I have to have music. It doesn’t matter where I’m writing. My kitchen table, my desk, a coffee shop, a quiet hotel room? It doesn’t matter. I have music blaring. Other than that? Just a little space.

What’s the strangest (neatest, coolest, etc) thing you’ve ever done?
Gah…that’s a tough one! *thinks hard* What’s neat or cool to me might be mundane and boring to someone else, but for me, it was getting my first book published. I mean…how often are you able to fulfill your secret, teenage dreams? (That aren’t drug induced not that I know anything about that.) I’ve always wanted to be a writer. I can remember writing little stories from the time I was seven and despite my self-consciousness and my fears and my panic attacks, I got not one, but several books published. That is by far the coolest thing I’ve ever done. That might change if I ever get to meet Vin Diesel and show him the way naughty erotic writers do things…bwahaha. *cough*

What is one place in the world you’d love to visit which you haven’t already been?
Oh, so many! I’d love to go to Germany. History major, remember? I’d actually love to do a tour of Europe. When I was in college, I only wanted to go to Prague because they pitchers of beer for a nickel, but now I’m in it for the culture and the men. I mean, hehe, culture and history…and men.

What was your favorite subject in high school or college?
Surprisingly it wasn’t History. I sort of fell into that as a major because I was good at it and interested in it, but I much preferred Music and English. I was in band for 9 years (from middle school to three years in college) and that fed my need to be creative. English helped me feed my need to read. History was boring until we started learning cool stuff like Egyptian Mythology. Kind of hard not to be interested in history when you learn ancient people thought the universe was created by masturbation.

What are you currently working on, or what’s on the horizon?
I have a lot of projects on the burners and I’m working on them a little here and there. I have my 3rd shifter story in my Cajun Heat series I’m working on, as well as a contemporary erotic romance with ménage elements, another erotic spoof or two or three, an erotic horror, some more contemporaries…I have a lot on my mind, LOL

What do you do when you’re not writing?
I love to read. If only my favorite authors would write faster! I also love to watch “my shows” like Love It or List It, Face Off, King of the Nerds, Swamp People, Duck Dynasty to name a few.

Author Bio:

Danica Avet was born and raised in the wilds of South Louisiana (that would be somewhere around Houma) where mosquitoes are big enough to carry off small children and there are only two seasons: hot and hotter. With a BA in History, she figured there were enough fry cooks in the world and decided to try her hand at writing.

Danica is the lucky pet of a compulsively needy dog and two cats. The pitter-patter of little feet has been known to make her break out into a cold sweat.

Writing is how she gives the voices in her head a way out. When she isn’t writing, working or contemplating the complexities of the universe, she spends time gathering inspiration from her insane family, reads far more than any sane person would want to, and watches hot burly men chase an oblong ball all over a field.

(Tour dates run from 3/15/13-4/5/13)

Please sit back, relax and enjoy an excerpt from Midnight's Jewel!

Blurb:

Sabrina Rivers, an orphaned half witch and magical misfit, has been hidden from the world for almost a century by her Aunt Eleanor. Her only possession is a mysterious dark crystalline pendant she can’t remove. She knows nothing about its powers or purpose.

When mercenaries attempt to steal the pendant in broad daylight, Eleanor has no choice but to entrust Sabrina’s safety to vampire Brandon Thorpe, kingpin of Atlanta’s supernatural underworld. While Eleanor hunts the would-be assassins, Sabrina learns what it means to finally be free to live and to love, but freedom has a cost. Her sheltered life left her with a heavy burden and no way to protect herself.

Is Brandon’s love real or a ploy to get Midnight’s Jewel? Will what she doesn’t know about her past get both of them killed? Can he protect her from her enemies and his? What price will she have to pay for love?

R Rated Excerpt:

He finished removing the soap lather and stepped close to her, placing his hands on the wall on either side of her head. He leaned in and kissed her. He whispered against her lips. “I would say you were lucky to have someone who cared, I would say you were very eager, and I would say I want you right now.” He kissed her again. This time she returned the kiss.

The molten pool of fire in her chest spread throughout her body. Her heart sent it coursing through her. She could feel her clit swell with the newfound pleasure. Her nipples tightened into pink pebbles. A gush of hot juice filled her pussy and spilled down her legs. She wanted to take his cock deep into the very core of her being, to melt their souls into one.

He pressed her body into the wall with his. She could feel his dick getting hard. It lay stiff against her stomach. Their height difference was going to be a problem like this.

He moved his hand down to her waiting slit. Inserting two fingers, he carefully slid them in and out while kissing the side of her neck. Nothing hurt this time. She relaxed, spread her legs enough to give him better access, and enjoyed it. His fingers were slippery with her fluids. They glided along her tunnel with ease. He knew just where to apply pressure. Placing his thumb on her swollen pearl, he worked both her pussy and clit simultaneously. He stooped over enough to lick and suck a nipple.

Sabrina had to brace herself on the wall with outstretched arms. He was going to make her come and there was nothing to hold her up. She was sure her knees would not keep her standing like this. Her body was going to burst with tension unless he fingered her off, but she was going to collapse if he did. Her cunt quivered and pulsed with a rhythm to match his. The orgasm that followed tore through her whole body. For a moment, she was locked in place, unable to move. The first aftershock hit and down she went. He caught her and eased her to the shower floor.

“Can you stay on your hands and knees?” Brandon asked.

She tried twice to speak but found the words were not there. So, she nodded in reply. He guided her into position. The hard aftershocks subsided into tiny ripples of pleasure. Her pussy was still quaking when he plunged into her from behind. It took her breath.

The tip of his cock reached her limits. Holding her hips, he rocked her back into him, applying a little more pressure. She could feel his long shaft stretching her. There was no tearing, no pinching pain. She was ready.

“Yes, please, Brandon! Please, don’t stop,” she breathlessly pleaded.

SWITCH ME UP

Blurb

Steve wasn’t sure how finding a match on a dating site could have gone so wrong—or was it so right? Younger than him by ten years, Clare exudes confidence, sexuality and an erotic allure that leaves no room for misinterpretation. She wants him. And he wants nothing more than to bury himself in her heat. But Clare comes with some baggage. Literally. Once his predatory minx breaks open the suitcase and the toys come out, Steve knows he’s in for the wildest ride of his life.

Excerpt

Clare came back with full glasses, put them on the table and curled up in the corner of the couch again. Steve watched her watch the fire. No, being dark-haired and short, she wasn’t really his type. He much preferred blondes and redheads who were taller so he didn’t have to bend so much. Being over six feet posed challenges. Lots of guys liked them small and tiny, little spinners. Not him. He liked them tall with long legs.

“Do you go online often looking for dates?”

The question startled him. “No, I don’t.”

“Oh, so I’m your first?”

Shit, that made him sound like a virgin or something.

PLUS ONE

Blurb

A girls’ night out for a pole dance workshop at her friend’s upscale sex club takes a wild turn for normally timid Karen. She knew what to expect, but not how far she’d be willing to go.
Rob comes to Desire After Dark as a plus one. His only expectation is visual stimulation, not participation. But that soon changes when he spots the buttoned-up-to-there beauty hanging around on the sidelines.
Thrown together, Karen and Rob find the sexual heat between them undeniable. Surrounded by twosomes and moresomes, they step on an unexpected and steamy path. But when another joins in, they have a plus one of their own.

Excerpt

“Holy fuck,” Rob murmured against the mouth of the beer bottle.

“So, what do you think?” Wendy leaned in to him and whispered.

“Fucking amazing.” He glanced down at her, his eyes zeroing in on her huge boobs cradled in some sheer fabric that pretended to be a bikini top. He tried not to look like a guy who had never seen tits before.

She laughed and slipped her arm through his, pressing those magnificent breasts against his biceps. “I knew you would like it. So. What do you want to do?”

Elemental Heat

Blurb

Jenna takes a big risk and decides to live in the moment. After months of communication by social media, she accepts an invitation to Colorado where she finally meets her cowboy. Burned by past romances, Jenna is determined to move on and goes with one goal in mind—a booty call with a tall, dark, sexy cowboy.Chet is a romantic at heart and when Jenna arrives, he knows there’s more to her than a pretty face and a hot body. A casual fling won’t do. He’s smitten and decides to woo her the old-fashioned way with time and patience. And of course, hot sex.Their chemistry is elemental and they come together with heat that sears the snowy peaks. When Mother Nature steps in, Jenna is forced to face the feelings she’s tried so hard to keep buried and Chet has to draw on his mountain skills to save the woman he has come to love.

Excerpt

“This is Chet.”

Jenna’s heart flip-flopped when she heard his voice for the first time. It was liquid honey and, oh ya, he had a drawl that sent tingles rushing along the backs of her arms. She forgot to say anything for a moment and gripped the phone in both hands. She’d managed to quell her instinctive caution long enough to dial his number. It had been a risk and now he was at the other end of the phone line. He spoke again.

“Hello?”

“H-hiya, cowboy.” Did her voice just croak? Nice.

There was a momentary pause at the other end and then he said her name, in a hushed, almost awed tone she could have sworn held a smile.

“Jenna. It’s about time you called.”
