Natalie-Nicole interviews Daniel Tremont from SEE ME

I’m thrilled to send some time with Daniel Tremont, hero of my new paranormal romance, SEE ME, available from Leap of Faith Publishing.

NNB: Daniel, it’s rumoured that you have eternal life. Can you tell me how this happened exactly?

DT: A long time ago, 1896, I was the unfortunate victim of a lumber mill fire—I was burned beyond recognition. I don’t really remember much except for waking up on an embalming table with the most beautiful brown eyes staring down at me. That’s only the beginning of it all, though.

NNB: Did you recognize these beautiful brown eyes?

DT: Of course, it was Charlotte Hopkins, daughter of the local undertaker. She was more than just a beautiful pair of brown eyes, she was…magic. What she did for me that day, was love.

NNB: Is it true that you are a Funeral Director?

DT: I have been, and I will be again. I’m much better with the dead than the living.

NNB: So, you’ve been in love with Charlotte all of these years?

DT: I always loved Charlotte—well, she’s Carly now—but it’s far more complicated than you can ever imagine. That day of the fire, I don’t think Charlotte knew of her power, and when she resurrected me, well, she was more than just a little bit spooked. She ran away and I never saw her again for a very, very long time.

NNB: How did you know you would never die?

DT: I knew I was different after the fire, but to what extent I wasn’t sure. I knew I was a healer, but I always tried to convince myself that I never really died in the fire, that I was just very, very ill and imagined everything. When I was forty, I thought I was just lucky. When I was fifty, I sort of knew. All of my friends were aging and I looked the same.

NNB: It must be very difficult to retain friendships when your friends are aging and you’re not.

DT: It’s definitely one of the worst aspects of being eternal. Through no real fault of my own I have to walk away from friendships when people start asking too many questions.

NNB: In the past, have your friends asked one too many questions about your uniqueness?

DT: I live a much regimented life when it comes to dealing with people. There’s too much of a chance of my getting tripped by questions about my past. I’ve learned over the years to basically keep to myself.

NNB: Have you ever resurrected anyone?

DT: Almost…once. You need to understand that I have always loved Charlotte. But I was extremely lonely as well. In the end, I didn’t do it, and I’d prefer not to talk about it. That was a very dark time of my life.

NNB: Understood. What can you tell me about Charlotte, who now goes by the name Carly?

DT: She is the love of my life. I will never be complete until I am with her forever. And it will happen, sooner or later, one way or another.

NNB: You sound very determined, very sure.

DT: What I know, is what I know, that’s all. Until it happens, I’ll do what I must to get by.

NNB: Are there other eternals out there like you and Charlotte?

DT: There’s an eternal named Xander Elliott. He also loves Charlotte, but he’ll never have her. He’s cursed by his former lover, Embree. Embree, by the way, is the eternal who resurrected my Charlotte. I’m sure there are others as well.

NNB: There sounds like there could be more stories in the future involving Xander and Embree.
Many thanks, Daniel, for trusting me enough to share a tiny bit about yourself and your outlook.

Once a month, Autumn Scott indulges in her voyeuristic fantasy thanks to a very sexy, very loud neighbor, who has no idea his encounters fuel her lust. Until she gets caught. Now Autumn finds herself exploring her ultimate fantasy—submission. But the stakes are raised when Kade presents her with a twist to his usual play. He wants to add three friends to the game. Together the four men indulge her naughtiest desires and prove the pleasure she’d experienced before was only the beginning.

Passion Next Door Going next door and confronting the sexy minx who’d made my past few scenes even more adventurous was a risk. I knew the night she knelt before me ready to embark on a hedonistic night of fantasy that I’d made the right decision. I had no way of knowing how incredible she was.
~~Master Kade

Excerpt from Passion Next Door, Book 1 of the Pleasure Brigade series:

The sound of the clock ticking on the wall across the room was driving her nuts. Blindfolded and stripped, she knelt on the floor with a spreader bar positioned between her knees and her hands restrained with leather cuffs behind her back. The time had finally come after an agonizing month of waiting.

Her pulse pounded in her ears as the sound of Kade’s footsteps echoed through his place. She had arrived on time and had been ordered into this position, and now she waited. Friends. That’s all she knew, other than they were safe to play with.

“The Brigade plays hard, but we are always safe about it.” That was all Kade had said when she arrived. She heard him approach her, the scent of cologne wafting through the air.

“A couple of things before my friends arrive. You will have no name with them, only Jane. All women we share are Jane. You will obey every command given to you, and should two commands contradict one another you choose the one you wish to obey. Remember the safety word and never be afraid to use it, Autumn. This is meant to be pleasurable for us all, but especially for you. If at any point you wish to leave or stop, we will end it and no one will think less of you for it. Understood?”

“Yes Sir.”

“And one thing I will tell you that I shouldn’t,” his breath was warm in her ear. “I will be the first to fuck that sweet ass of yours. So when it’s getting pummeled, know that it’s me.”

The mere thought made her pussy quiver. “I am glad to hear that, Sir.”

The knock at the door startled her, her pulse quickened in anticipation. What would they be like? She focused on Kade’s footsteps and their pause before he opened the door.

A barrage of loud shouts and laughs echoed through the room, each distinct voice making her breath hitch slightly. How many men would fuck her? The camaraderie continued as Autumn listened intently for the different pitches and whatever clues she could get on how many people were entering. Guessing there were three men joining Kade, she shivered in anticipation as footsteps approached her.

Fighting for independence goes beyond an infant nation, but love might just conquer all.

Captain Caleb Haslet has come home to Portsmouth, Rhode Island after two years at sea chasing pirates and keeping British ships from the fledgling American nation. He wants nothing more than to settle into domestic life and finally claim the new bride duty had forced him to leave behind.

Though she now has her own life doing charity work, providing prisoners with basic creature comforts, Abigail Haslet is both excited and anxious that Caleb thinks to take up where they left off. But, how can she give her heart to a man who'll leave again when duty calls?

Caleb no longer wants a marriage of convenience. When plying Abigail with kisses and spending time with her fails, he decides to take advantage of his wife’s stint behind bars to make her see the truth—he's in love with her.

Excerpt PG:

“I do what I please, Caleb. You’ll find that out quickly.” She stared him down, holding his gaze as if it were a contest. “I never wanted a marriage of convenience.”

“Ha!” A bark of bitter laughter followed his outburst. “It’s hardly been convenient. In fact, it’s been damned inconvenient.”  Who willingly weds then embarks on a two-year mission without bedding his wife?

“You’ve been out fighting the British instead of staying home to protect me from them.” Was that a waver in her voice? She shot to her feet with her glare back in place.

“If only my orders had been to fight the British, it would have made our parting easier at times.” When she didn’t appear to want more of his story, he sighed and clasped his hands behind his back.

“Commanding the Iroquois is my livelihood. I support you and this household with the profits I pull from the position. I won’t change that now.”

“I wouldn’t ask it of you.” Abigail crossed her arms over her breasts. “However, if you cannot commit to me and our home, we have no marriage. I’m well aware women have no intrinsic value in this society, especially when war is just started, but in this I remain firm. I’m not an object to be bought and set on a shelf to forget.” Her voice caught at the end of her speech.

Caleb’s heart lurched. Would she welcome him in their home while he was on leave? “Careful what you wish for, wife. I’ve been granted two month’s leave while the ship’s being repaired.”

“Oh?” One of her eyebrows arched.

“Aye. I will rectify the neglect with haste as I plan to bed you at my leisure.” There, he’d put forth his intentions. Let her make the next move.

A pretty blush colored her cheeks. “It’s not such an easy problem to solve.” The tendons in her neck worked with a hard swallow. “If you want me, you need to understand me, court me. I have my own life and interests besides being your wife—in name only.”

It was the second time she’d mentioned he hadn’t claimed her body. Did she want him to do just that? “Challenge accepted.” He walked to a sideboard where a few decanters of liquor rested on a silver tray. “And by the by, I refuse to sleep away from you tonight. You are my wife and I will bed down with you. Prepare yourself.”

“Fine, but prepare yourself for a cold reception. I’m not the sort of woman to open her legs simply because a stranger wishes a fast romp for a flimsy claim to ownership.” Turning so quickly her skirts flared, she stormed upstairs, stomping on each wooden step. A door slammed seconds later.

He grinned. “I have a proclivity for the chase.” It was his profession, after all. With a steady hand, he poured himself a fair measure of red wine. Winning his wife would be his finest adventure. Loving her would be his next.

PG Excerpt:

“Mr. Thorpe? Sir, we have received word of a bombing in Asheville. It appears someone targeted Hilargi, Inc. A black BMW M5 matching the description of Eleanor Beckett’s was seen leaving the area. We believe she is headed this way. What would you like for us to do?” The skinny, small-framed man looked more like a sleazy used car salesman than a messenger. Tension and fear filled his voice. He was only a few steps into the room but seemed to think it was too far in for comfort.

His boss looked up from his paper with no particular interest, picked up his wine glass, and gave the dark-red contents a hard look. He took a large mouthful and swallowed hard. Giving the skinny man an appraising eye, he thought about the message for a few moments more.

“Let her. Don’t try to stop her, for your own safety. If she is on the run, there’s something far more dangerous on her trail. Do you know if she was alone?”

“We can’t be sure, sir, but we think she has her niece and a fairy with her.” The salesman-like messenger took a step back toward the door, anxious to be anywhere but here.

“Well, then. I think we can expect guests. I look forward to meeting them. Send most of the guards and staff away. Tell them they can have the evening off and to go party responsibly.” The man practically ran from the room, leaving him alone. He was intrigued. Eleanor was rumored to have something of tremendous value in her possession. Whatever it was, she was sure to have it with her. Her visit had the potential to be very profitable. Perhaps she would barter safety for a little slice of the pie. He would have to call this in to his boss. His boss required a taste of Thorpe’s profitable dishes, but it was okay. That was just how the system worked, how he himself had became so wealthy. He smiled to himself and went back to reading his paper.
